Authorities of Coachella Festival have decided to reschedule this year’s edition due to confirmed coronavirus cases in Indio, California, where the event takes place every year.
The festival was supposed to be held on weekends from April 10 to 12 and from April 17 to 19, and now the organizers are evaluating the possibility of moving it to October, on weekends from 9 to 11 and from 16 to 18.
The decision will depend on the availability of the confirmed artists for this year, among which are Disclosure, Calvin Harris, FKA Twigs and Lana del Rey, among many others.
An official statement from the festival’s production says: “Under the direction of the local health authorities, we must sadly confirm the rescheduling of Coachella and Stagecoach due to COVID-19 concerns”.
Coachella is a world reference in terms of music festivals since each year it brings together hundreds of thousands of people and the best artists on the scene.
