Martin Panizza from South America is emerging as one of the great names in techno and has conquered both the public and the top leaders of the scene. He is one of the most experienced DJs in Uruguay, and has played with legends who visited South America such as Paul Oakenfold, Paolo Mojo, John Creamer or Satoshi Tommie.
Producer of a dark techno that does not deny melodies, his presence is common in the Top Ten of Beatport and Traxsource. “Bomba Virtual”, his debut in 2015, reached the Traxsource Top 50, appearing on the Ibiza Closing 2015 compilation. In 2016 he signed for the Natura Viva label, and joined forces with Gabriel Rocha alias Dj PP to manage the Hund Music label together, editing his own works and emerging new techno artists. His track “The Wire” reached # 6 on Beatport on Minimal.
He begins 2017 presenting “REDvolution Show” by Johnnie Walker and as a resident DJ at Brava Grand at The Grand Hotel Punta del Este. Together with Fernando Picón, he created the FEEL parties, fusing the roots of house music with the most powerful techno and becoming an instant success, with editions at Radisson Montevideo Hotel and the renowned Lotus Club. He released “Pachamama” with remixes by top DJs Demian Muller (Cadenza, 8Bit, Circus Recordings) and Gabriel Rocha (Terminal M, Defected). This track, which has the support of Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin and Vlada Asanin among others, remains for four weeks in Traxsource’s Top100 Techno reaching # 8. The other tracks released in that year, “Underground” reaches # 4 in Techno Top100 and “Bankrupt”, it was TopTen in Beatport (# 9) and Traxsource (# 7). He also became the resident DJ for Raving.Fm, Munich’s leading techno radio station (http://raving.fm).
He begins 2018 with his second season as a resident of Brava Grand, the luxurious Hotel & Beachclub ***** in Punta del Este. He published “Insomnia” that goes directly to Beatport’s Top100 and in February his collaboration track with Gabriel Rocha titled “Later Then” comes out, which has already garnered excellent feedback from Patrick M, Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Riva Starr, Richie Hawtin among others and rises to the top becoming # 1 Techno on Traxsource. “The Dune” became his second track to reach # 1 in 2018. For this reason, the government of his country awarded him in recognition of his Contribution to Culture. In August and September he returns to perform in Europe, playing in Barcelona, Berlin, at the StreetLife Festival in Münich and in Bora-Bora Ibiza with Darío Nuñez at the “MadeInIbiza” party. He closes the year with the support of Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin and Dubfire at their shows in Uruguay.
In 2019 he celebrated 25 years of profession. His track “Jambo” reaches # 60 on Beatport and another collaboration with Gabriel Rocha, “You Have Power”, reaches the Top50. He received artists such as Steve Lawler, Charlotte DeWitte, Seth Troxler and again Boris Brejcha in Uruguay, and was appointed Model1 agent for his country by Richie Hawtin and PlayDifferently. On Traxsource, “Haunted” peaked at # 2 on Top Techno and “Later, Later” entered the Minimal’s Top of the Year. He plays with Germán Brigante, Marc Romboy, Julian Jeweil and closes the year on a great night with Andrea Oliva.
In bizarre 2020 he launches GROOVE Academy, where together with his colleague and friend Fernando Picón they train the new generations of local DJs and producers, while spending most of their time in their studio. Several remixes and their own songs would come out there, all of them becoming Top50. His finishing touch is “My Control,” which currently ranks # 1 on 4 charts: Beatport Techno, Beatport Hype, Traxsource Overall Singles, and # 2 on Traxsource Techno Top. Performing regularly in Europe and with a constant presence on the global top sellers with his renowned productions, Martin Panizza is a name to consider in today’s techno scene.
