MOAI Dj Platform Europe welcomes Layma Jakin

Born in Cádiz in 1980. She began to feel attracted to electronic music around 1997, being one of the first female DJs on the south coast in the breakbeat, techno, trance and trip hop scene of the time. In 1998 she joined her first group, Speed ​​Records, which led her to join later groups, Global Beat and Panoramix Sound, sharing the stage with artists from the international breakbeat scene, such as Atomic Hooligan, Stanton Warriors or Lady. K among others …

In 2002 she moved to Madrid, where she evolved towards other styles such as electro, minimal or deep techno, without ever forgetting her origins; breaking rhythms, adapting them to techno in their sets, creating a diversity of styles marked by darkness with bright sounds. In 2007 she spent a few months at the Phrenetic Society, improving her skills hand in hand with greats such as Elesbaan, David González or Cristian Varela.

Winner of the “La sala Dj” contest, Vicious radio Mallorca (2014). In 2018 she moved to Asia, playing in República Sunset, (El Nido, Philippines) and in Kokoloko (Bali, Indonesia). He is currently part of the Madrid label Unclosed Records, and of the CasaCaos collective in Palma de Mallorca.
