One of the most important parts of the MOAI Ecosystem is our MOAI University. In this area, integrated within MOAI Platform, we find synergies and collaborations with DJ and music production schools from all over the world.
Within this framework, we are proud to welcome a great project launched by two of our MOAI PROs, the Uruguayans Fernando Picón and Martín Panizza. Leading figures and exponents of electronic music in their country, Fernando and Martín have decided to share three decades of professional experience and knowledge through courses focused on the world of booths and music production.
Groove Beats is the name of this project, located in Montevideo, Uruguay and integrated within Groove Academia, a company dedicated to teaching in the framework of arts and music.
Groove Beats divides its courses into two. The first is DJ School, which consists of twelve classes of two hours each, in which the theory and practice of all the techniques present in the art of DJing are explained. These classes are dedicated to getting to know each of the elements of the booth, how to play vinyls, cdj’s, mixing, etc.
The second is Production, which is also made up of twelve classes, where the beautiful and at the same time complicated part of bringing a musical theme to life is tackled. The classes cover, step by step, the different parts and stages of a creation, such as the rhythmic base, bass, pads and synthesizer arpeggios or the use of samples and vocals. Also, and no less important, is the part that focuses on the knowledge of the tools available in the studio, as well as the final stages of a musical production, such as mixing and mastering.
Fernando and Martín cover in their courses a whole range of possibilities that allow any student to acquire valuable knowledge that will facilitate the launching of a career or support and boost an existing one.
