It is nothing new to know that Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the most iconic venues around the world. This year it has proven to not only be in good shape but cements its legendary status by becoming the most visited music venue worldwide by 2021.
In a year-end report by Billboard, which reports on the year’s top venues, top tours, top promoters, etc., Red Rocks has surpassed all expectations by outperforming stadiums and other iconic venues such as New York’s Madison Square Garden and London’s O2. With a total of one million visitors this year across all of its events, which have hosted the likes of Kygo, ZHU, Alison Wonderland, and many others, its total number of visitors is a whopping 996,570, which is not even close to other venues that are in the same proximity as these numbers, with Bridgestone Arena having the second highest number of visitors with 271,597.
In response to this incredible feat, Red Rocks posted on Instagram:
“We knew we saw you guys a lot this year, but the busiest venue of any size, anywhere in the WORLD in 2021? That’s what @billboard says at least 🤯 We couldn’t be luckier, especially in our 80th birthday year. This is truly a tribute to the dedicated artists, promoters, staff and, of course, YOU, our fans. Red Rocks is a special place, and every person who steps on stage, pours a drink, greets a customer or buys a ticket deserves to celebrate 🎉 Let’s get you 2022!”.
